Why an OL: speaking from experience, transitioning from high school to college is a challenge and continues to be one, so being able to help incoming freshmen with their transitions would be a pleasure!

Favorite UConn Memory: Discovering the campus and the surroundings my whole first semester of college.

Favorite Place on or Around Campus: The space outside of our reflection room where couches look out of big windows over the city. I like that space because it creates an image in my mind of what college is all about-having fun with your friends while enjoying a great view.

Why an OL: I met so many amazing people at my orientation, so I hope I can make this a memorable one and a smooth transition for the incoming class.

Tip for Success: Time management is vital, but also confidence is key. You know yourself best and you know what you can handle.

Why an OL: College can be super stressful but I want to be a part of the support system that helps to make new students feel safe, secure, and welcomed.

Tip for Success: Don't be afraid to ask for help! No question is a stupid question. We are here to help you, and asking questions is a great way to also help other people who might be wondering the same thing.

Favorite UConn Memory: I remember my bio lab freshman year when I met my best friend. We went from texting each other about the homework to going on vacation together 6 months later! I’m so thankful to have met her.

Favorite Place on or Around Campus: The (William and Alice Mortensen) Courtyard! I love sitting and being outside, and even if I'm doing homework, it feels like a little break during the day.

Why an OL: I became an OL to assist students in their transition to college and show them what all UConn has to offer. Coming to college can cause a lot of anxiety and I want to ease that anxiety for incoming students by giving them as much info as I can to help them succeed and find their place at the university.

Tip for Success: Buy a planner. It is extremely useful for keeping track of assignments and meetings.

Favorite UConn Memory: My favorite UConn memory is my first basketball at Gampel Pavilion.

Why an OL: I remember back in my own orientation OLs were the first people I met at UConn. They were really welcoming and helped ease the transition to college, this is something that I want to be a part of for new students.  

Tip for Success: Take advantage of any and all resources. It helps in the long run.

Favorite UConn Memory: All of the cultural events that take place throughout the semester.

Favorite Place on or Around Campus: The (UConn Library @ Hartford Public Library) Library is one of my favorite places to be, since it is a nice and quiet place to study and do homework.

Why an OL: I want make sure that students have someone to go to whenever they need help. The transition from high to college can challenging so finding people who can help actually makes the process easier.

Tip for Success: Make sure to make time for yourself. Your wellbeing is more important so if you need a break, go ahead.

Favorite UConn Memory: Joining USG. Even though my first year was mostly virtual, I found a way to become activate on my campus. I had so much fun meeting new people and learning more about the campus.

Why an OL: The jump from high school to college is huge and I want to make that transition as easy as possible for the incoming freshman.

Tip for Success: Stay on top of your school work, meet as many people as you can, and be sure to ask for help when you need it.

Favorite UConn Memory: Watching the men's basketball team beat Memphis at the XL Center

Favorite Place on or Around Campus: The XL Center because the basketball games are so much fun to go to and they really bring the UConn community from near and far together to support a common interest.

Why an OL: I want to help students feel as prepared as possible for their first year at UConn so they are confident and excited for college!

Tip for Success: Try to procrastinate as little as possible and get your work done earlier in the week so you don't have to rush the day before the due date. Also, don't be afraid to speak up to your professors if you need help or have a question because they are there to help you!

Favorite UConn Memory: Going to the club and USG sponsored events and activities with my friends.
